Hey mom and dad,
So I am completely recovered from being sick.
I hear john is back. I kept forgeting while I was reading emails that he now lives in utah. What a bummer. Tell him he can stay in my room if he wants to come down for a bit.
Sounds like the jeep is going to be way fun to drive when i get back. I dont know if I can drive. It has been a long time. About the omiages ithink some stuff from az would be cool. people really like the picture of the big cactus that I have in my picture book. arizony stufff would be good.
Well our mission is reaching new heights and I am glad to be apart of it. For some weird reason everyone just seems to be stepping it up. It may be because we are seeing success or because we are trying to fulfill our purpose more. I dont know but we as a mission are on fire.
Oh ya, transfers was last week and i stayed and got a new companion. He is japanese. Who would have thought. He is way cool really nice and does karate. We get along great. I am still district leader but I feel more like a zone leader because there are 8 people in my district and those 8 people just happen to make up the entire zone. It is an interesting situation but I like it.
Japan is amazing the rainy season has started so it is now time to have some fun in the rain! ya baby! If you can have fun in the rain as a missionary you can you can have fun any where and any time.
love ya and see you soon,

Hey mom and dad,
I cant believe the megan got married. I am happy for her but man, everyone just seems to get married. Sometimes I feel that I and others are growing up too fast. Oh well life goes on. Tell bro Sucang that I say hi back. I miss that family.
This week was an interesting week. I got sick last Sunday and had diareah for 4 days lost 5 kilos and didn't get anything done. It felt so weird not to be able to go out and work. I hated it. Finally the day I got better we had zone confrence and because it went long and our way home is a 2 hour bus ride we didn't have much time to work either. Friday I got a flat tire on my bike when we were about 45 min. away from the apartment so we had to make that walk all the way back. This week just seemed to not be going too well. I just felt off, out of the groove. Then Sunday came and we had a good lesson with Seto San our investigator with a baptismal date. We are helping him get a stronger desire to get baptized. He is a really nice guy. Then we had just a little time after lunch and because I didnt have time to fix my bike on Sat we didn't really have time to go any where so we called some people out of the area book. The first person I called was someone that my previous comp had found and only met once and called him a lot with no answer. It had been a while so we decided to give him a call. I did and he answered! Not only that but he had met missionaries 2 days before and he really has a lot of interest in the gospel. He is really busy so it is kind of hard to meet but he was super nice and he speaks english. We set up a time to meet for chruch next Sunday. We found a new investigator. Even though my week seemed that it was going no where with nothing much to show I got a little tendermercy or blessing from the Lord.
I know the Lord watches over us and gives us what we need when we need it. I know that He, through revelation and a living prophet, guides this chruch. I am so greatful for this knowledge. People that don't have it are missing out. I am greatful for the opportunity to be apart of this great work in Japan and to bring the joy of the gospel to my ancestors. This chruch is true.

PS I know you guys are really good at talking to people about the gospel. But do the missionaries ever come over and ask for referrals? We do taht all the time here in japan. I would just like to challenge you to maybe try and find someone who would be willing to hear the missionaries and refer them to the missionaries. I dont really know how the work goes in Arizona but I am sure that they will love receiveing a referral. Love ya

Hey mom and dad,
Man things seem to be changing with the ward and with the family. When I was there we didn't get any new families. We seemed to be fighting to the keep the ones we had. It's good that we are getting more new families.
I can't believe that scoot trevor and katie are graduating. it feels so weird. It doesn't feel like I have been gone that long.
Life is great in Nishiwaki. Our members are great. We have alot of recent converts and we are able to meet with less active but we just can't seem to find new investigators. I am not down because of it. It is just nice to find someone new who has the joy about hearing our message. When you don't find new people sometimes your will to keep going out and working hard everyday can start to go down. It is a real time of testing. A time of remembering all of the promises that the lord has given us and then using our faith to make them happen.
I am enjoying my new assignment as district leader. I think I got it at just the right time. Any sooner and I may have flopped and any later well that would have been good but I would not have progressed as much as I have this transfer. I still have about 5 months left but if I go through my
mission thinking that it will never end I will come to the sad realization that it is over and that I didn't do all that I could have. With the new assignment and with the realization that time is coming to a close I have really started to focus more on what is important and what can wait. Especially as district leader I don't have a lot of time for myself and when I do have time I need to make sure I am doing things that are productive. Then when I go out I need to talk to everyone and set the example for my district. It is a little pressure but it is good pressure. It is making me a better missionary.
I am having a blast. This week is going to be a good week. we also have zone confrence this week. I am excited for that. I also should have to do my first baptismal interview this week so wish me luck.

Well hello hello mom and dad,
Life is just dandy here in japan. It is starting to warm up. We didnt find any new investigators but today we are meeting an investigator that we havent met for a month do to various reasons. There are some brazilians in our area that one of the members has told us about but my comp doesn't really want to speak protuguese. I will probably make him but there is a good chance that they speak japanese too. My comp's japanese is good. he is only on transfer 6 and my japanese was
probably like his or worse when I was on transfer 6. it is good enough to teach simply. That is the most important.
District leader is fun. It isn't as bad as I thought it would be when I was a younger missionary. It is nice to talk to everyone every night and get to know them more. Good experience.
I didnt know that Erica got in a car accident. what happened? is she scared to drive now? I hope her neck problems go away soon.
Tell Randy thanks. I will probably send him a letter. I have been meaning to for a while but just keep forgetting. I think i have his address, but could you send it to me agian just to make sure.
Well the part that you have been wating for. Mothers Day phone calls. I was thinking that you could call me around 8 or 9 oclock am my time. That means that it would be around 4 or 5 pm your time. Is that ok? It kind of really doesnt matter when you call. just as long as it is before 6 your time.
I love you guys. i cant wait to talk to you. there may even be a little suprise when you call.
Talk to you later,
