hey mom and dad,

dad is probably at meetings or writing my emial as i write this one. i am emailing early today because i am going to yamatokoriyama! there are some people going home after this tranfer that lived in koriyama and i decided totag along. I might have a chance to read his email at the church in yamatokoriyama but i can make any promises. sorry!
i hope i bought a good rain jacket too. It is way cheep and i dont know how good it really is. probably not that great. i bought it at a walmart like store. after i bought it i found out that there was and outdoor shop really close. i might go there next p-day. sorry i might have wasted 15
dollars.it hasnt rained that hard since so for now i am ok.

it sounds like the kids are starting off the summer well with a party. i will definately pray for erica. i hope it is nothing too serious. i am glad you are finaly getting your bathroom. maybe if you are lucky you will get it before i come home.

so how did dad get a hernia? man he is starting to get old . i love you dad.

life is doing good here. we have 2 people with baptismal dates and we are teaching a young family. me and slater found them but we just started to have actual lessons this past week. there biggest problem is smoking. they both smoke and the wife doesnt want to try and quite be cause it is going to be hard. we are trying to have lessons with families so they cans ee how the gospel blesses families and so they can make friends.

we had one investigator that came to chruch. his is 17 and he said he wanted to be a missionary when he prayed. he is alittle socially awkward but it isnt too bad. he didnt understand anything at chruch which made 3 hr. hard but he is way nice and said that he would meet agian.

that was pretty much my week. we are still haveing trouble finding investigators. it seemed so easy with me and slater. that is one thing i want to focus on this week: finding investigators.

sorry it is kind of short we are trying to hurry. sorry dad i will do my best to read your email. if i have time i will right back.

thanks for your help and love

hey mom and dad,

it sounds like life back home is doing great. the talk by sister holland sounded really good. i wish i could have heard it. i kindof remeber when i went a temple dedication. i remember i was really tired, i stole aunt tammy`s white hankercheif, and the hosanna shout. that is all i realy remember. i was what, 8 years old. that seems like forever ago.

i cant believe that school gets out this week for the kids. i left for my mission when school started, now 1 school year is ending. man time flies fast! all of these end of the year parties sound like fun. i remeber when i had those. fun fun

i am blessed to have another japanese companion. we speak all japanese. it is great for me but i get way tired of it. it is so hard to speak only that language. no breaks. my comp. understands english pretty well but he cant really speak it. he really doesnt want to learn english that much or someone told him not to speak it with me :)

this transfer has helped me grow so much. i have really studied the book of mormon and pmg these past two weeks. it is amazing how answers come from the scriptures. the words never change but the meaning does. there is no other book like it. that is probably the biggest thing that i have learned so far this transfer is that the scripturesare one way the lord answers prayers. i kne w that before but my testimony has been strengthened. i know that if we have a problem and we actively seek to find a solution to that problem or an answer we will get it wether it be through the scriptures, other people, or revelation. this one fact makes this gospel so cool. when ever we have a question we always have some where/someone to turn to. how awesome is that.

i just want you to know that even thought slater is not my companion any more i am still the happiest missionary there is! no companion change or bad day can change that. I create my own weather. for the past 2 days it had been raining like crazy. on sunday we were contacting some old investigators. through this i found outthat my rain gear isnt quite up to the challenge of facing the japanese rain. it must be stronger than america`s rain. i was soaked from head to toe with in the frist hour. i could have complained and said i wanted to go back to the apartment but i didnt. i just made a joke out of it. there was nothing i could do about it right then so why worry about it. i couldnt get any more wet so i might as well continue. all of the people that we visited werent interested which was sad but i was doing what i was supposed to do and i was happy doing it.

I LOVE MY MISSION!!!!!

thats all i have to say. i am not saying i am the best or most effective but i am saying that i love what i am doing and i will do it with a smile because i know what i came out here and i know that i have something that every one needs, something that everyone should want to have intheir lives. this is the best experience ever!

Lastly can you send me another harmonica. my comp wants one. his birthday is just before we transfer and i think that would be a good birthday present. sorry i dont want to make you send another package that quick but i think he would really like it.

Sorry i lied not the last thing. can i get the hoffmans home address. i want to send them and derek a letter. and can you give the my blog site address so i can give it to them. thanks abunchy.

Well thats it for this week. it is raining like crazy and i am excited to see how this next week turns out.

thanks for your love and support. you are the best!

Hey mom and dad,

i am going to try and just do one email today and see how it works.

sounds like everyone is doing great. it sounds like the week is going to be busy. have fun!! i remember when i wrote my eagle project write up and it took me forever and it was way stressfull. i amglad marshals went easy.

this week was good. we met an investigator 3 days ina row. his name is isamu. he is 29 and he has been to church before but he never really cared. now he is searching for something and he has found it with us. his date is for the 16 of may. he is looking good. he lived in canada for a year so he speaks english and it is funny to teach him because some times we will switch into english. it is fun.

we also met with 4 breakdancer/hip-hop people. it started out as one 2 weeks ago and then it blew up to 4. they are all way cool. 3 of them are really nice but one kind of has an attitude. they invited us to see them practice but they practice at 10 at night which is way past the time we are supposed to be in the appartment. it is way cool to meet with them. if we are lucky we might be able get them to teach us some cool dance moves. we are meeting them this saturday. maybe i will get some cool videos.

sunday we had 3 investigators come to chruch. isamu came and an old guy named harumoto. harumoto is retired and loves to make things out of wook. him and grandpa hunter would get along great. i have a picture of one of the things he made. i will try to send it. the next one was a guy named korbin. he is from canada. we met him a month ago whenhe first came here looking for a job. we have seen him around a couple of time and have tried to give him some people who want private lessons. he aske us about chruch so we invited him. he is awesome. i am not sure what is going tohappen from here but he said he is coming next week so i am pumped.

life is great. japanese is still a struggle but ihave fun doing it so its all good. i am learning so much about life and my self that i would not have learned so early inlife with ou the mission. i am excited to be in japan at this great time!!

well thats it for this week. if bro. reynolds ever calls agian tell him osu back. that word is slang for 'whats up'. it is a good word but not very polite in japanese society. mostl business men say it and people who think they are the man.

love you and i cant wait till monday.
